OUTFITS UNFILTERED: 1

As you can tell by the date on my last post, it's been a hot second since I've posted last, but during one of my all too frequent insomnia spells this week, I came up with an idea.

Most bloggers post outfits to get likes, follows and to sell you stuff you never knew you needed until you saw it on their feed. I was one of those bloggers once, so I swear I'm not making this shit up. Because of these very reasons, when I rebranded to Honestly Unfiltered, I promised that I would never post another outfit again, but back by popular demand I've decided to bring outfit post back in a whole new way.

I'm not going to post 15 different photos of myself in poses where I look like an asshole and I'm definitely not going to try and sell you anything. However, I thought it would be fun for us to take a behind the scenes look at each outfit where I share where I got each piece, and why I love it! Sounds just like what everyone else does huh? Just wait...drum roll please.....

The first thing you should keep in mind when reading these posts is that I'm an emotional shopper. Everything I buy has an emotionally/sentimental driven reason behind it. The second thing is that I don't think this jacket even needs an introduction does it? I mean, it's a pleather trench coat - it speaks for itself (it actually does, it's pretty damn loud with all the crinkling noises it makes).  No matter if it needs an intro or not, the real question you're all dying to know the answer to is why I bought the damn thing in the first place. Don't worry, I'll tell you.

One word, five letters - BLADE. Yes, that's right I said Blade. You know, the badass vampire hunter played by Wesley Snipes before he went to jail?  Yeah, that one. Growing up, I was not only obsessed with vampires (and no not just the stupid sparkly ones from Twilight) but I had the biggest crush on Blade - he was so hot fighting off all those vampires in his tight, all leather outfits. Though, I obviously do NOT find Wesley Snipes attractive anymore, I still love all the leather action the costume department blessed him with in those movies.

I'm probably one of the only people I know who still wears leather pants so, adding an extremely unnecessarily long trench coat just seemed like a natural progression. The cool thing about a piece like this is that only do you sweat perfusely while wearing it in any temperature, but it also looks good with just about everything - including my resting bitch face and sneakers.
